Using the Site

By using DogAgeTool, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, that is fine, just close the tab. No hard feelings.

You can use the calculator, read the blog, share links, print pages for personal use, and generally do normal internet things. You cannot scrape our content, hack the site, use it for illegal purposes, or pretend you built it. That is just rude.

Not Medical Advice

This is the important part. DogAgeTool provides estimates based on published research. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If your dog is sick, acting weird, or you are worried about their health, call a vet. Do not email us asking if your 14-year-old Pomeranian's hip pain is normal. We do not know. We are not vets. We are people who built a calculator.

We are not liable for any health decisions you make based on information from this site. The calculator is for educational and entertainment purposes. Your vet is the authority on your specific dog's health.

Accuracy

We try to be accurate. We use real research. But canine aging science is complicated, individual dogs vary wildly, and new studies come out all the time. The calculator gives an estimate, not a definitive biological age.

If the calculator says your dog is 45 in human years and your vet says 50, trust your vet. They have actually met your dog.

Intellectual Property

The code, content, design, and branding of DogAgeTool belong to us. You can share links and quote small portions with attribution. You cannot copy the entire site, republish our articles under your name, or steal our calculator code and pretend you built it.

User-generated content (like emails you send us) becomes ours to use, display, or ignore as we see fit. We will not sell your emails, but we might quote funny ones in a blog post.

Affiliate Links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, primarily to Amazon and Chewy. If you click one and buy something, we might earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we have researched or would recommend to a friend.

We are required by the FTC to disclose this. Consider it disclosed.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DogAgeTool and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, and emotional damages from finding out your dog is technically a senior citizen.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware, because that is where most internet companies incorporate and it seemed like a safe bet.
