What We Collect (Spoiler: Not Much)

Let me be straight with you. DogAgeTool is a simple calculator website. When you type your dog's breed and age into the form, that information stays in your browser. We do not send it to a server. We do not store it in a database. We do not even have a database.

The calculator runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your dog's age, breed, and weight never leave your computer. We could not access it if we wanted to, which honestly is kind of nice because I do not want to know how old 47,000 random dogs are.

Cookies and Tracking

We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not use Google Analytics. We do not have a Facebook pixel. We do not retarget you with ads for dog food because you visited our site once.

The only cookies that might exist are functional ones from our hosting provider (Vercel) for basic site delivery. These are not used to track you, profile you, or sell you anything.

If we ever add analytics in the future — which we might, just to know if anyone actually uses this thing — we will use privacy-focused tools like Plausible or Fathom that do not collect personal data. And we will update this policy to say so.

Advertising

We display ads through Google AdSense and potentially affiliate links to pet products. These third-party services may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings.

We do not control what ads Google shows you. If you see an ad for something weird, that is between you and your search history, not us.

Data Security

Since we do not collect personal data, there is not much to secure. The site is served over HTTPS. Our hosting provider handles the infrastructure security. We do not have user accounts, so there are no passwords to leak.

Third-Party Links

Our blog posts and guides may link to Amazon, Chewy, or other pet product retailers. These are affiliate links in some cases, which means we might earn a small commission if you buy something. It does not cost you extra. We only recommend products we would actually use or have researched thoroughly.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. Read their policies if you care about that stuff.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The site is intended for adult dog owners. If you are under 13 and reading this, you should probably go outside and play with your dog instead of reading privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

If we change anything meaningful about how we handle data, we will update this page and bump the date at the bottom. We will not email you about it because we do not have your email.
